Email Configuration
1. Download and Configure Windows Live Mail in
Windows 7 for Indytel Email 1. Click on this link, or type it into your
browser address bar. 2. Windows Live Mail Click on the Download button on the
right side of the page. 3. Click on the Run button on the window that pops
up. You may also click on Save and when the download is complete you may Run,
or Open it. 4. If asked again to Run go ahead and click Run. 5. There
will be a window pop up asking you to put a check in the items you want to
install. To install only Mail you would click on each box to un-check them
until the Mail box is the only one checked. 6. Click on the Install button.
7. It may ask you to close Internet Explorer if it is open. Do this by
clicking on the Continue button. 8. Wait while the program is installed for
a few minutes. 9. A window will appear that asks you to check the box for
setting your Search Provider, Homepage, and Help Improve Windows Mail, you may
click on each box to un-check them all. 10. Click on the Continue button.
11. Click on the Close button. 12. Windows Mail is now installed. Go to
the Start button and All Programs. In the menu you will click on Windows Live,
and in that menu is Windows Mail. Click on it to open it up. 13. Click
Tools in the top menu on the right side. 14. Click Accounts on the bottom.
15. Click the Mail tab at the top. 16. Click Add then Email Account.
17. In the Add Email Account window you may fill in your email address,
your password, and how you want your name displayed, such as, John Smith. Then
click the Next button. 18. Click into the box for Incoming Server and type
pop3.indytel.com 19. Click into the box for Outgoing Server and type
smtp.indytel.com and click Next 20. Click into the box to put a checkmark
next to Make this your default mail account and click on the Finish button.
21. Click on the Close button.
Note: If you want a shortcut icon on
your desktop for Mail just right click on the icon in the menu, click on Sent
To, then click on Desktop.
2. Configure Windows Outlook Express for Indytel
Email 1. Open Outlook Express 2. Left click Tools in the top menu on
the right side 3. Left click Accounts on the bottom 4. Left click the
Mail tab at the top 5. Left click Add then Mail 6. Type the name for
this connection, such as, indytel mail. Left click Next at the bottom right
7. Type the name you wish to appear on your sent emails. Left click Next at
the bottom right 8. Left click the button for I already have an email
address and type your username followed by @indytel.com ( Like
support@indytel.com ) Click Next 9. Click into the box for Incoming Server
and type pop3.indytel.com 10. Click into the box for Outgoing Server and
type smtp.indytel.com Left click Next 11. Click into the box for your
password and type it in. Then left click Next 12. Left click Finish and
close out of any open windows. Your Outlook Express is now ready to recieve and
send Indytel email 13. To test your email you may click on the Send/Recieve
button on the top of Outlook Express. You may also try sending an email to your
own address and see if it shows back up.
3. Set up Mail Filters in Windows Outlook
Express 1. Open Outlook Express 2. Left click Tools 3. Left click
Message Rules in the middle of the menu 4. Left click the checkbox to put a
mark next to Where the subject line contains specific words 5. Left click
the checkbox to put a mark next to Move it to the specified folder 6. Left
click the link in the box below that says contains specific words 7. Type
SPAM into the top box 8. Left click Add 9. Left click OK 10. Left
click the link below that says specified folder 11. Left click the Deleted
Items folder 12. Left click OK to confirm and close the window |
