Rate Changes Effective January 1, 2019

Dear Valued Customer/ Owner,

As your hometown provider, Independence Light & Power, Telecommunications, continuously works to keep all rates as low as possible without compromising service quality and reliability.

The Utility Board of Trustees, in an open meeting held October 25, 2018 at 8:00am, approved rate changes for services offered by the utility.  These changes will take effect January 1, 2019.

What rates will change?

There will be no rate change for phone customers; however some Cable TV and Internet customers will see an increase in rate.  This is due to the ever increasing fees the utility pays in order to deliver those services.  Below is a list of service packages that will have a rate change.

Cable TV Rates:

  • The Standard Plus package, currently $72.95, which includes channels 2-136, will change to $75.95, an increase of $3.00.

Internet Rates:

  • The High Speed package, currently $39.95, with speeds of 20/2Mb will change to $44.95, an increase of $5.00. Speeds for this package will also increase to 30/3 Mb. This is a “grandfathered” package and is no longer available to new customers.
