We have ten diesel generators with a total generating capacity of 23,250kw. This is more than enough capacity to supply our customers needs. They range in vintage from 1949 to 2000 and are all fully functional.
Having local generation has enabled us to purchase wholesale power for the community at cheaper rates. Currently we are buying wholesale power from Wisconsin Public Power Inc. That means that the our generators are on standby and are operated during times of peak electrical usage or if we loose are interconnection to the electrical grid. We have lost our connection several times over the years due to storms or mechanical failures. In some instances the community would have been without power for several days. Fortunately we were able to restore power with our generators within minutes.
We have made numerous upgrades to our facility over the years to make it more reliable and efficient. We stand ready to serve the needs of the community as it continues to grow.
